That's according to a tweet picked up by Mirror journalist Aaron Flannigan and shared with his followers.

"An Altrincham director claims they are 'thriving' as a club. Really? They have the worst record in the top seven levels of pyramid."
"Ok, the 'club' and the 'team' are different things. But come on. Thriving? They used to be one of Manchester's elite. Now spiralling"

The quote was from a 'club director' according to Aaron. It turned out it's just Phil Taylor putting his foot in it.

Chers Phil!

How we'll laugh at this next season when we're going toe to toe with Rushall and Warrington for the final play off place in the glue league. What's wrong with you people - beating the likes of Tranmere, Grimsby, Cheltenham and Barnsley last season was all well and good, but I think that the success of the walking football and kids yoga are things that we should be celebrating.

It's a strange circumstance as usually a fall from grace like this and back to back relegations constitutes a financial problem off the field, however from what I can gather our finances are actually relatively healthy which I guess is what he means.

In some ways you could say that this makes what's happened even worse as there's no excuse apart from poor management on the field and poor decisions off it.

something has gone fundamentally wrong for us to be anywhere near this position. For me and many others the obvious mistake was the appointment of Neil Young who has gambled on a completely new look team and lost spectacularly.

PR disaster follows PR disaster follows blinkered statements.

When will these individuals learn or be held accountable for their personal views which tarnish our once great club?

Idiocy from the Old Boys Club continues.

What is Phil's position outside the ladies team administrator?

If it's a club official, add to the PR gaffes pile.

As far as I am aware (and I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong), Phil Taylor currently holds the following roles:

He has recently succeeded George Heslop as the football club's matchday secretary.

He is also a director/board member of Altrincham Football Club Community Sports Limited:

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07990575/officers

I also believe that he now has a salaried position as an employee of the aforementioned organisation and works on CSH/community-related activities during the week (possibly on a part-time basis?).

Some people just can't, or refuse to accept that the club is in the sh*t especially on the field, hence the ridiculous statements being shoved out, if the club is "Thriving" how about we get the cheque book out and start buying some players with proven quality.
