That reads to me that he is manager of Altrincham and doesn't say anything about him going anywhere?

Barry has done so much for the club behind the scenes. I have massive respect for him.

Luckily it seems that he will still be involved in the club on a reduced basis.

For those of you who can't see MD's tweets he has said 'tail wagging the dog #beingused'

Could be about the managers job but who knows.

An update from the board on the managerial situation should be on the website soon after 4.30pm this afternoon.

That is one hell of a lot of work Barry has put in.

Much appreciated by all I am sure.

As for Goodall. His engine went. Whether he knew that before he signed up only he will know. Good luck to him with whatever he does next.

Huge debt of thanks due to Barry Pond, quietly brought hundreds of thousands of pounds into the club and many won't know what he looks like.

It's about the fifth time he has retired I think which is a tribute to how many times he has stepped up.  Glad he is staying around as his contacts will be invaluable.  True unsung hero.

I haven't seen much of Alan Goodall which I think puts me in the same bracket as a lot of people.

Those harrowing images of Alan Goodall attempting (in vain) to play in the centre of a back three during Jim Harvey's short-lived tenure at the J Davidson Stadium will undoubtedly continue to haunt me for many years to come.

Hats off to Barry Pond - a true gentleman and a marvellous servant to Altrincham FC.
