On Tuesday 2nd May, Altrincham FC held their annual Summer schools tournament at the J.Davidson Stadium. Four schools participated, with 68 children (Year 3 & 4) taking part. St Vincents, Stamford Park, Broadheath and Park Road Academy competed for the trophies, in the second year of this event.
Year 3 Group
St Vincents powered through the group stage, with 9 points from three wins, scoring 17 goals in total and finishing top of the table. Stamford Park also proved to be a scoring force, 6 points gained from the group stage, with 14 goals in total, finishing second place. Broadheath followed in third, with 3 points and Park Road in fourth with 0 points.
Year 3 Finals
After two convincing wins in the semis, Stamford Park and St Vincents went head to head in the final. St Vincents continued their scoring streak with a 4-1 victory over Stamford Park. Two consecutive years, St Vincents have now taken a trophy away from our Summer competition.
Year 4 Group
Park Road finished top of the table, with 7 points from three matches, scoring 3 goals. St Vincents followed closely in second place with 6 points and a total of 5 goals. Broadheath came in third place again, with 3 points, scoring 1 goal. Stamford Park finished in fourth position, with 1 point, scoring 1 goal in total.
Year 4 Finals
After a scoreless draw, extra time and a tense penalty shoot-out against St Vincents in the semis, Stamford Park went into the final against a group leaders, Park  Road Academy. Park Road scored late on against Broadheath in extra time during their semi-final, winning 1-0. Another scoreless draw, saw both teams go to extra time and a penalty shoot-out. Stamford Park were the victors, winning 2-1 on penalties.
Community Co-Ordinator, Judy Henson, presented the teams with medals, certificates and trophies to finalise a fantastic afternoon. Altrincham FC now look forward to their Winter tournament in December, more details will follow closer to the end of the year.
