I'm not sure I want to see Hannigan in an Alty shirt next season .. he came with a reputation and was constantly on the sick list... we don't need injury prone players . I wasn't that convinced on the few times I saw him play...

I agree about his injury record but he's still got a year to run on his contract so it might be difficult to shift him.

Lawrie will be a good player for someone else but his time at Alty is done and has been for a long time.

Doughty said Tomlinson wouldn't stay as he'd get higher offers.

The others, well....it's usually the retained list that gets greeted with a pleased response. When people are cheering the released list like I have then it really shows just what  a season that was. From the little I saw of them they weren't a striker combined.

End of an era with Lawrie finally going. But it's the right time.

I'm quite sad really as James attitude has alway been great, however its obvious he will never be consistent and maybe this is the right time, maybe for him as well.

I'm not celebrating this, thanks for the memories James 

I think it was more a lack of effort rather than quality why people are not sorry to see him go

James Lawrie deserves a better response than he's had on here.  He was decent for several seasons and should be remembered for this if nothing else

I don't know how many games you go but when he was good he was quality but he would have another 6 or 7 when he was awful

Jimmys issue was his decision making, maybe the right one 50% of the time? Any higher and he'd probably been a FL player. Got the impression last couple of years he'd just got bored.

I don't get down very often now,but James Laurie give a good chunk of his career to are club,he been there through thick and thin and stayed,thanks James might not of worked last 2 seasons but been a great survent,good luck in the future.

I have been one of the posters on here that made it clear that I thought James Lawrie's Altrincham career should have ended the season we were relegated from Conf National. I still stand by that.

However I do not feel his release is one of those things that should be celebrated, but just acknowledged, if you believe PP has got it right (assuming it was PPs decision and not one made by James himself). Most people who met James in the bar after games will tell you what a nice fella he is, albeit a sometimes very talented footballer and often a very frustrating one to watch.

Best of luck to him, time to move on for his sake.............and I reckon he will get a gig at a club higher up the pyramid than us.........Curzon ?
