Something 50cm high sounds like a trip hazard to me. The text on the boards would also be far smaller than on something waist high, and for those with bobbins eyesight like me I'd not be able to read that across the pitch.  It has needed doing for some time, I hope not one penny has been taken from the playing budget.
You do seem permanently annoyed about everything.

Me? Hell no, I'm a happy chappy most of the time. Honest! This is despite tough times on the old domestic front.

I'm all for ground improvements... even if the team isn't performing its nice to have a decent ground. Well done to whoever sourced the funding. Long overdue , however this could be part of the resurgent Alty.....

The fence needs to be the same height as before as many rely on it for leaning on. It also needs to be flat on top for the resting of a tea cup. One thing we don't need to import from Nantwich is their round top fence which is no use at all.

Agree with this entirely, find our fences and barriers are just the right height to lean against. At my age of nearly 60, I am not going to be mobile forever, and I find our ground very comfortable for standing - there will be a time in the not too distant future when I will have to move myself to seating. Because of the barriers, this will be later rather than sooner.

Don't under-estimate this, for me our ground in one of the most comfortable viewing stadiums when standing, more than I can say for some others. Thanks to everybody who thought all this out!

Interesting close season discussion point this thread has become.
