He did, and got substituted, replaced by 40 year old Kevin Street. Meanwhile, Luke Walley scored all three Whitchurch goals.

For any aviation enthusiasts, the Beluga took off from the adjacent airfield during the game and there are lots of images on Whitchurch's Twitter feed.

Having not had the benefit of seeing all of the weapons who were brought in last season, I can't remember if he was one of the worse ones or one of moderate at some points ones?

His playing pedigree is decent enough, did it show?

His performance at Curzon Ashton was the worst ive seen in 25 years. That bad. Abysmal player.

We didn't see a lot of him at all, fitness certainly needed addressing, can only assume he's escaped the cull on pedigree and potential.

In fairness, his pedigree doesn't read that badly. But his more recent history negates it. Potential ? Didn't see him play, but it would seem from the views of those who did that it could only be unlocked if he shed a stone or more. A wasted talent.

Came on as a sub at Stockport and I just felt really ashamed to follow Alty.

If the fat f**ker has gone away, shed more than a few pounds and got fit then I've no objection to him trying to gain a place in the squad by proving himself in pre season. If he hasn't made any effort at all to get fit then I'm bemused as to why he's still hanging around unless he's on a contract which wouldn't totally surprise given some of the sh*t that happened last season!

On the evidence of his second-half performance at Stockport County last December, the Beluga probably has a smaller turning circle than him.
