For a team that are the biggest in the league (by a country mile), betting favourites, and with a board vocal about targeting promotion, then playing a side that finished lower mid-table last season at home on the opening day is the perfect start.
It's no guarantee of success of course, but I'm sure it's the sort of start all at the club were hoping for when the fixtures were announced. It won't be terminal if we don't win, but with two much more difficult tests to come in the same week, anything less than a win at home to Stafford tomorrow would be an early setback.
But as Ecky says, play anywhere near our potential and it is a comfortable win. I can understand people's negativity, given what's gone before, but we should have enough to easily out score them and so a 3-1 or 4-1 win seems a good bet to me. Their '1' on the assumption that Deasy starts.
