Why else would they play for us? It's not like they were born in the shadow of the ground. Once they've been here a season or two they might not be as mercenary but initially they'd be mugs not to be looking after themselves first and foremost.
It therefore has to be hoped that they want to succeed in getting us out of this league if only for the lure of more money in National North and beyond.

You would hope so. It also explains why when it all turns to rat Sh1t like it did last season and the season before people at some point give up and go through the motions.

There's something to be said for performance bonuses.

I'd quite like a spread of interviewees to be honest. As someone pointed out to me on Tuesday, in the clubcall days it was never just the manager that was interviewed, it was a different player, the assistant, a member of the board etc.

I'd like to see a return to this, although I can't imagine any of the current board (with the exception of possibly one person) would be willing to take on an interview after a game we'd just comprehensively lost.

Just listened to this, that is a good interview and he was clearly talking about Nantwich fans slaughtering him and not Alty. Not sure why this upset people?

It was the way he said 'apparently I'm not allowed to say that' in reference to him saying we played well in the 3-0 home defeat to Stafford that I took as a little dig at the Alty fans. But like has been said elsewhere he's young and inexperienced so I'm not going to hold it against him too much.

I'm probably going to outrage some of you. A good manager SHOULD read his team fan's forum. He can sometimes learn from the alternative views of supporters.

But what he should NEVER do is post on that forum, or have a dig at the fans for their views. It's very rare that we'll all agree on something, but all views should be digested.

I'll get my tin hat.....
