Last time I was at Grantham was back in the mid 60s when we had to enter the ground through a disinfection area due to the Foot & Mouth outbreak

Seems like there are still quite a few of us about who went!
I was on the coach which struggled to get through the slush in Stockport and then when nearly at Grantham, was diverted as roads were closed (cordoned off) due to the foot and mouth outbreak.
We got to the ground not long before half time!
I used to take an ARP bell to ring (I know!) and was nearly refused admission when they checked my duffel bag. Everyone behind me in the queue started shouting to hurry up and he just let us all in.
My memory might be playing tricks but I think Bert Lister scored for us not long after we got in.
I do remember the ground reminding me of Matlock with one side roped off and part of a cricket pitch but I think Grantham play somewhere else nowadays - so that will be another ground to tick off!

Important to be able to win ugly .

Their keeper made a mistake but was very good.

Harrison man of the match by a mile. Bembo-Leta worries me at times, far too casual. Missed Short at full back.

Richman again did well when he came on. Moult was very good second half.

Josh Hancock continues to impress. Very good close control and strong.

Not a great game but very happy.

Some weeks you don't get the luck, but this week we definately did. No one around us celebrated the goal, as we all stood in disbelief that it had been given.
Grantham were certainly the better team early on and how they didn't convert one of the chances which they put across the box, I don't know.
I agree with the point about Bembo-Leta, and I am not sure how he was man of the match, he made a few forward runs, but was caught out of position so many times, he just isn't a right back.
I also thought Johnston and Hancock were positioned so wide at times they were not in the game, it put pressure on our midfield and we were over run. We also played so deep at times, it just invited trouble from Grantham.
But a few bright sparks from the afternoon Moult looks to be back to the player we saw a few seasons ago and Poole came on and made one or two good touches.
Getting Miller back up front must be a priority, we didn't really test their keeper until the final few minutes of the game.

Pleased with the 3 points but the result was mainly down to luck rather than playing well - play like that most weeks and we won't win, but what a difference to play badly and get win for a change.
Very odd choice for man of the match to say the least, many guffaws went out when that was announced.

Chalk and cheese from Tuesday nights romp.

Glad to see we can win ugly. Aside from the handball n the first half I think the ref got most decisions right.

Harrison was my mom

Fair play to Grantham, who gave us a very good game today. They were at us from the off and in their number 10, had the game's most impressive player.
For us, neither full back looked particularly comfortable and I still don't have a great deal of confidence in our central midfield (though Jake did well in the second half) and JJ gets so many chances, but puts so very few of them away. On the plus side, Harrison was again brilliant, Peers worked bloody hard to cover the defensive deficiencies of our full back (motm???), Hancock busied himself about everywhere and Hulme carried on manfully against two half useful centre backs. Also, lovely to see James Poole back - a real player who keeps the ball on the deck.
We're better with Short, Richman and Poole in the team, but hey ho, up to PP and we won again!
I feel the ref made one really bad call for both teams, but the goal was good - having otherwise had a fabulous game, their keeper lost concentration and made a right cock up of it.
We're in the mix now. Roll on the next game.
