When we played Ashton in the League Cup at their place in 2004 (& lost 6-2) the 'crowd' was 177. Will that be beaten tomorrow?

Did he earn that swan song appearance or just merely achieve it?  ;)

Would play our strongest team (without risking injuries). Think this team is a momentum team, and we currently have it. Just a guess of course, but I wouldn't be writing games off with this team

Yeh I think there's some merit in this. I certainly think Ashton will be a useful barometer of where we are as they'll be a Test and won't roll over like a couple of teams had so far.

However, Saturday is a top of the table clash so I expect PP will err on the side of caution.

What's wrong with Hannigan now?...

Got kicked just before half time Saturday. Tried to start second half but was in obvious discomfort.

1 enforced I believe.

A decent performance tonight. Sean Miller looked back to his self, just faded towards the end as not match fit. Young right back Jones looked accomplished, and good to see Lawrence get a good runout. The introduction of the youth team players was a joy to watch. Played with confidence, the Parkinson style of football and were direct. If Mason Walsh goes down earlier he wins the penalty, but made a meal of it after getting away from the defender and was rightly booked. Omatola looked in desperate need of match practice.

Parkinson wins penalty shootouts. Water in to wine next?

EDIT: Big shout out to Max Harrop who was outstanding today, especially in the first half when he was a real nuisance to them, and took his goal very well. Added bite to a young midfield when Sheridan and Taylor were subbed and he was asked to play deeper. Not his position but slotted in well.

Superb entertainment. Thoroughly deserved win. Thought Jones and Walsh were excellent.

Well done Alty. Onwards and upwards..

My dose of Tues night footy was watching Shrewsbury batter Bristol Rovers 4-0
They were very pleasant on the eye and I can see why they are top of the league.

Hour and half drive to watch Alty or 2 min drive to watch Shrewsbury each week.?

Its a no brainer for me.
See you folks at Warrington next Saturday.

I had £20 on Shrewsbury at an unbelievably generous 2-1.

Nice touch... to be fair to "The Gas" they played well in the second half... they also bought about 500 fans with them... I really do miss seeing the away end full of away fans at The JDS nowadays...
