The young kids were at moss lane last season trying it on but the stewards who were at alty last season kept them in check by following them round ground were ever they went also took any drink or flares off them they got bored off being singled out so did not come back . They now no the stewards have left so know they can do what ever they want in the ground.it will happen again.also the ref will report back to the fa what happened last night as will the refs assessor who was Sat in the stand.Philip

I noticed that the majority of the fans were not the real Alty fans tonight just a gang of spotty little feral kids trying to (and failing to act hard). The flares were a fkn joke...

]if this club wants to be seen to be a proper run outfit then lets get some proper Stewarding, get the turnstiles open properly and stop letting these tossers have access to beer. if it means paying folk to carry out these duties then so be it.

Imagine.

They’re local kids, some where at the Away tie. They just need reigning in a bit

Who's going to reign them in Pete? We have no stewards because they all walked out (in an incident that still hasn't been thoroughly explained) and the vocal section of our home fanbase has been decimated for reasons well documented.

It was easier to win kids over and get them hooked when we were hosting the likes of Tranmere and Bristol Rovers, and they'd come to Moss Lane to see an established core support getting behind the team in their way. We've plummeted to joke football in a joke league so is it any real surprise that lads have turned up and treated us as a bit of a joke? We are one.

Harm could be done if sanctions are taken against us if referees report that games are delayed because of flares being thrown on the pitch.

One reason i don't go to games anymore i don't feel safe in that ground if anything happens due to lack of trained people.
This day and age you can't mess about with safety you need to be at the top maybe only a non league game but 400 plus people
is seen as an easy target.
If the ref noticed the flares etc he as to report them so that will be a fine for the Club.

Really? All credit to the volunteers but they never made me feel particularly safe.

Presumably you don't go to away games either just in case they haven't got any stewards.

In fairness, prior to this season we've hosted numerous teams with an 'element' without much if any trouble, so regardless of our stewards being volunteers we have been kept safe in the past. Last night was the third instance of poor crowd management this season, two of which have put fans in danger.

I don't go to any Altrincham games as i now work as a Match day manager for a Stewarding company at a Premiership and Championship club.
I lead a team of any thing from 30-60 Stewards.

A flare went onto the pitch, a few lads sang the 12 days of Cantona after a few too many beers. Bid deal. Nothing really happened.

If it wasn't for the noise they created then Moss Lane would be quieter than a library.

They through a flare onto the pitch I would consider that a big deal

But to be honest its more embarrassing than anything else. We don't want people singing about united or anti liverpool or city songs
