Altrincham v Mickleover Sports | MATCH POSTPONED
« on: February 03, 2018, 12:08:50 PM »

Despite the best efforts of the club ground staff, today's game against Mickleover Sports has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

A local referee has just inspected the pitch & deemed that there is too much water & too many puddles on it for it to be playable.

Good effort by all those who tried to get it on. It has rained most of the night and all morning, so it is to be expected and more chance the Ashton game will be on.
I spoke to a reserve player who played on the pitch a few weeks back and he said in the worst parts the ground is moving with just the slightest pressure because of the water underneath so people can't moan at the club.
They have tried their best, it is purely just the crap weather we get at this time of year.

According to the League website neither we nor Mickleover have a League game scheduled for Saturday March 10th., although Mickleover are still in the League Cup & that is the date originally set aside for semi-finals.  Don't hold your breath, but maybe someone in a higher place than me will see that & put two & two provisionally together? Pigs are flying through the Royton skyline as I type ...
