Macclesfield Town
« on: February 01, 2018, 10:26:22 PM »

Players have this evening released a statement to say they haven’t been paid wages for January, they’ve tried to find out what’s going on and have had no response.

Serious?

Or could you look more into it and say the owners have seen the short success a SOS brings with instant cash flowing in such as Hartlepool and Chester?

It’s doing the rounds on Twitter now. Appears to have been a complete shock to the players. Maybe their worlds smallest budget story is not entirely true either.

Macc have been skating on thin ice for years now with regards to the finances and to be fair to Askey he is a miracle worker and I’m amazed a bigger club hasn’t snapped him up by now. Hopefully this is the start of their promotion bid beginning to unravel at any rate. I’d still go with Aldershot or Tranmere for automatic at this stage,

Still light years ahead of us at the moment but hopefully PP slowly taking us back towards them.

There was one macc fan trying to work out their wage bill....he based it on an average of £350 per week ......

Their owner was there last week apparently and was overheard saying "if we cant beat these what's the point?"......

Suspect as with anything macc it's a try on.....although with a disinterested owner (albeit one who has always previously stumped up at the last minute) the worst can happen at any time.

The AGM cup has a lot of entrants this year....ah memories....

If Macc have got to the top of the Conference paying an average of £350 p/w then I’m Pep Guardiola.

They say they will be paying the wages on Monday,  "following the delayed receipt of budgeted monies from an overseas source."

You're actually doing them a huge favour there.

They can't even spell the word 'overseas':

Ha ha, I had missed that when I just typed in a bit of their statement rather than cut and paste or link to it.  Nothing like an unprofessional official statement to excuse their lack of professionalism.
