Superstition
« on: March 19, 2018, 09:52:40 AM »

Always been a bit superstitious but I would prefer us shooting towards the golf road end first half. We had some good results under Heathcote and Sinnott doing it this way.
I think it has only happened during the Stourbridge game and we were 4 up at half time. May have happened against Stafford also, which wasn't so good.
Then we wont be trying to play in the mud and actually play some football in the better half of the pitch.
Just a thought.

Get our stat man on this, since 2005.

People may think it's a load of rubbish but would love to know.

Get in boys. Top performance and battle.

Also better atmosphere in bigger games.

Got to think of the state of the pitch aswell. We have the better half to play into this way. We saw that tonight, passing was excellent second half. Players running with the ball, overlapping, much better than clumps of turf preventing attacks.
In recent years I have more happy memories shooting that way second half .

sC**thorpe X2 in the 2nd game I thought kingy's penalty which was in front of the golf rd was in the first half?
southport fa cup x 2 in the 2nd game pretty sure 2nd half we kicked into the chequers end?..remember stu Coburn making fine save in 2nd half at golf rd end?

York absolutely convinced in the 2nd half when the scoring went mad we were scoring at the chequers end..I was in the golf rd and remember watching the York goals go in...

I know the mind plays tricks, but I am sure the penalty against SC**thorpe was in the second half and well into it at that.
Also not sure about the York one.

The penalty against SC**thorpe came in the first half and was definitely at the Golf Road End.  I remember John Connaughton making a last-gasp miracle save near the very end of the game at the Golf Road too.  Had that gone in I had the feeling SC**thorpe would have won in extra time.

It was definitely at the Golf Road end.....after that this means my memory is officially f*cked.

Now that I do remember, I was in the Anfied Road end. I've already posted a photo of me from the MEN before boarding one of the coaches looking like the king of the nerds. Mind you, I had quite wrongly thought we'd kept them to 0-0 for longer than we actually did....my memory IS f*cked
