Who will our new captain be?

With Steve Bushell having now left the club, who do people expect to lead the team on the pitch next season? I can see it possibly being Tinson as he seems like a natural leader on the pitch.

I would have thought Robbie Lawton would be a candidate...wouldn't you?

Tinson for me. Strong figure can see him being a good leader and motivator. However I cant see Tinson playing every game so maybe Lawton would be better...fitter and likely to play more games?

Lawton could be a good choice actually. Will be interesting to see who gets the nod.

Colin Little

Lead from the front, best attitude by far!

Definately not Colin Little, imho a captain needs to be a defender or midfielder.

Therefore you would perhaps consider Robbie Lawton or Darren Tinson.

Personally I dont think Robbie has the aura of a captain and it may affect his game to much to be captain.

Darren was captain at Burton I beleive and in my book he would be the obvious choice for the armband.

However who else is to come in? We had 15 players signed with Lewis to decide on his future. We bring in one and three are set to leave. That leaves you with 13 players signed on and one to decide. So we will need 3-5 players more to complete the squad, so we may find someone who is more suitable to the job.

I sure hope we get a squad of 18 players, I do feel 16 is light in this league.

Tinson for me, natural leader, and a true colossus.

Anyone but Colin Little, strikers do not make good captains, it puts them off their game (que list upon list of people who have combined the striker/captain role with success!)

Val Owen. Been at Moss Lane for a while now and gives 100% every game. He may not start every game but leads by example for the rest when he does us. If Val is out then Tinson for me would make sense, Munroe is prone to the odd laspe in concentration as we all know. Tinson as we've all seen over the years should do a real job for us.
