Darlington - Match Thread
« on: December 19, 2018, 08:55:35 AM »

Alty 3/4
Draw 14/5
Darlington 10/3

Important to get the Christmas “mini season” underway with three points. Us top of the form table, Darlo near the bottom of it. Need a professional performance and three points. Do we know how long Jordan Hulme is suspended for? Assume it’s three games but we’ve had no clarification

Hope the "Flu" has cleared up, back to near enough full strength, important to get off to 3 points on Saturday. Interested to see who plays up top for what I assume will be a 3 match rest for Jordan.

We can score and create without Jordan, so lets get on with it and keep the league momentum going.

I’ve just checked the FA database. It is three games taking in the fixtures from the 22nd until the 29th

Hulme is a massive loss as we no like for like replacement. Might be the time to go to 4-3-3 with Mantack, Hancock and Hemming up top.

Not the worst game to try something out, but definitely need to get 3 points.

Alty 2-0 Darlington. Hancock and hemmings

Darlo have a very useful striker on loan from Sunderland who scored two in his debut at Chorley

Don't worry. We have four centre-halves.

I think the only option is to have Hancock/Harrop as your 9 and 10. I would most defo go Hemmings and JJ on the wings. Still not sure about Mantack.
Assuming White is injured then Dens, Jones, Hannigan and Hampson. Richman and Moult CM.

Probably will be same formation just a thought I had.

No idea why I put Mantack in instead of JJ though!

It's critical that either Hampson or White play at lb no matter what formation we play

Maybe start off with Mantack at 9?

We need someone that can stick the ball away - and that obvious candidate is Josh. We have the creativity to fill his boots at No10 in the meantime.

Mantack did his best to stuff up his goal v BPA, so not sure he's got his shooting boots on just yet.

Darlo having a poor season and a lot of the natives want Tommy Wright sacked. For me this is one we should and will win, obviously JH a big loss but we have goals all throughout this team so I’m confident. Arguably more important will be getting our normal defence back after last Saturday. 2-1 Alty with a pre-Xmas gate of 923 for me.

In fairness last Saturday's defence wasn't bad. Wicked deflection for the goal and they dealt with everything else.
