We'll feel the loss of Hulme in more ways than just goals. It sticks with him when it gets there and it gives other attackers plenty of time to get further up the field. Whoever comes in at #9 has to do their best to replicate that and that's why I'd opt for Hancock myself.

                        Hancock

Hemmings        Harrop            Johnston

              Richman        Moult

Hampson   Hannigan       Jones      White

                       Thompson

Altrincham 2-0 Darlington. Johnston penalty and Jones from a corner, either side of half time. ATT: 899.

That's where Paul Ellender (remember him?) came in handy. Equally as effective at centre-forward as centre-half.

I think that's how we'll line up Andrew. And for the reasons you state that's why I wouldn't.

Spot on. My main concern isn't missing his goals because we have them in the team, it is holding the ball up top whilst players get up the pitch.

I think he will go with the above team.

Come on Alty.

I can’t say I remember Paul Ellender playing up front?

I’d be happy enough with any sort of win, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised by a re-run (or better) of the 3-0 at their place earlier in the season. There’s a reason we win every week, and they don’t.
Either way, it would be useful to get 3 points on the board. Much sterner challenges await us at Stockport, Guiseley, Boston, and Chorley over the next few games.

Not sure it needs segregating tho (as suggested earlier). They’ll bring a fraction of the 400 that travelled on the last time we hosted them, on the opening day of the season.

Paul Ellender was great to push further forward as an attacking midfielder...cant remember him as a number nine exactly....bit like Ricky Harris

Darlo have a very useful striker on loan from Sunderland who scored two in his debut at Chorley

This lad, Andy Nelson, is very highly-rated and is expected to get a longer term loan to a football league club in January (contract due to expire end of season).

His two goals v Chorley were very similar lifts over the goalkeeper (they're on Youtube), will need to stop him getting into similar positions.

We just need to revert back to our best back 4 and they will deal with him.

We could really do with this going ahead. I'd like to see Jordan back for New Year's Day.

Why is there a pitch inspection when we’ve paid ten grand for pitch covers? It’s winter weather

Precisely be good to hear why no call for volunteers if it's because of lack of man power etc.
