Chorley (A)- 12th January
« on: December 28, 2018, 05:20:21 PM »

Booked train tickets to Manchester for the Chorley match, but I didn't realise there was possible strike action on Northern Rail every Saturday in January!

I am booked on the 18:35 back south from Piccadilly which would usually be fine for getting back from Chorley on the 17:38 train but not if the strike is on.

Will keep an eye on the strike details but anyone any suggestions of alternative routes that could get me back to Piccadilly in time if the strike goes ahead?

See what’s running from Euxton Balshaw lane on that day, maybe in to Preston post match and back out, would
Be tight but could do it. Or change your ticket to Wigan and get a train south from there or put the word out for a lift, hard to know what sort of service they’ll be running that day

Looking at the timetable for tomorrow, the only services from Chorley are a replacement bus to and from Bolton, and, unfortunately, I think the strike is very likely to take place.
As Mrs W sad, I would be in touch with Virgin and try to change the ticket to Preston or Wigan. There is a good bus service from Chorley to both; it's the 125 to Preston and the 362 to Wigan

Cheers

Managed to switch my tickets to Wigan rather than Manchester and will get the bus to and from Chorley from there.
