He’s bought 10% from Peter lim according to the bbc. Ironic it’s on the anniversary of this......

🔘 Last year the Board called an Extraordinary General Meeting to pass a motion allowing the club to bring in significant investment by making further shares available for purchase.

🔘 Following approval, the club acquired 117,000 non- voting shares – roughly 51% - which have been converted to voting shares and are now held in Treasury.

🔘 The club is now able to sell the shares to a suitable investor, or investors, who share the Board’s ambitions.

Im confident Dom is doing all he can to find investors for the 51% which is why we haven't heard anything from The Sports Business.

Slightly different take on this from Kieran Maguire, Lecturer in football finance at Liverpool University:

"One reason why David Beckham may be investing in Salford City is that the club lost nearly £12,000 a week in 2016/17 whilst in the National League North. Losses likely to increase if now full time in National League"

Looks like Peter Lim's initial outlay at least, is at an end?

For those interested in this sort of thing @KieranMaguire on Twitter, well worth a follow.

Question for Grahame Rowley and dom;
What did David Beckham say when approached to consider taking a 51% stake in Altrincham FC?

I believe he replied "due not being able to see one of the goals from 50% of the main stand, i am not interested in investing. It is a NO from me!"

I expect this is the reason why, while Salford City end up attracting an assortment of multi-millionaires and are on the brink of League Football, we get Mike Adams...

I think a lot of this is a bit daft (and possibly tongue in cheek) but he was never going to invest in us over Salford was he  :-\

I think the interesting point is that Salford are on a journey. Starting with Class of 92, they brought a billionaire on, and now David Beckham has joined on.

I'm sure if we hooked one (right) major investor, he would get others to buy into his journey.

The so-called five-year plan (which I believe we are actually on track for on the pitch, 1 promotion and pushing for a 2nd in year two) should have been converted in a vision of taking us to the top of non-league in beyond, and sold to investors - not to have to do it on their own, but to come together with other like-minded invidiausls, who can share in this.
