Fc United 23/10
Draw 5/2
Alty 10/11

Didn’t guiseley used to have an old stand from
Mancheser City also. Or seats from them at least

They did have a second-hand stand, before it burned down, but that was actually from Harry Ramsden's, just down the road. It might seem bizarre for a chippy to have a stand, but apparently they had concerts and the like there, making it something of a tourist attraction for day trippers from Leeds and Bradford. They may well have got some seats from Manchester City.

Another very odd stand was at the Racecourse Ground, Wrexham. There used to be a very unsafe looking stand perched high above the Kop at the Town End, which is itself closed now, which had formerly been the balcony at the  local Majestic Cinema. Before my time, but we would have played there in the sixties.

I’ve asked on their forum and apparently according to a number of posters it is NOT segregated on Saturday. So we can get a pint in and have the option to stand on the ‘Dane Bank’ if we wish.

Great. Spreadtrincham FC strike again. We'll have 400-500 there and it'll look no more than 200.

It’s certainly an odd one. I know nothing about safely managing football crowds but I’d assume basic common sense would normally say 500 or so away fans should be segregated in the modern era. I doubt Trafford or indeed GMP would ever allow it at Moss Lane. Still, their ground and their call.

If you didn’t go today and saw Alty won 2-1 and thought, great we are back to winning ways......think again.
Our second half performance today was woeful, against a poor FC United team, we couldn’t get the ball out of our own half.
When they scored, to make the scores level, it had been coming for some time, cross after cross was coming into our penalty area.
We then broke and scored with a lucky deflection in one our few breaks.
Before Christmas, the football was brilliant, but in the last few weeks we have really gone off the boil, forget the play offs, we are just not good enough.
In terms of new players, the lad up front, was obviously not fit, a few times JJ broke on the wing and he was miles behind. FC defenders seemed to be able to take the ball off him very easily.
PP looked very frustrated on the touch line pointing and shouting, you could tell he wasn’t happy.

Poor match in my opinion. The away end is a truly terrible place to watch football.

Both teams maybe at opposite ends of the table but there was not a lot between them. Surprised to see Williams in a head of Richman. Hampsons and Harrisons injury clearly effected how we managed the game. Don't think Piggot was meant to play the 90. Speaking of Piggot i thought he tremendous. Him Hancock and Hannigan  stood out.

White must be the only left footed full back who looks better at rb. Thank god we Richman.

I know their 5 might be a right C**t but I'd e putting a 7 dayer in tomorrow. If we can't get him try for Langley.

Delighted to finally put them to the sword but a performance that asked more questions than answers

That was a big 3 points.

We were much the better team in the first half and controlled possession and 1-0 for me didn’t accurately reflect our dominance. Second half, a team fighting to stay up and with a raucous support behind them put us right under. Regardless of the fortunate nature of our winner I think overall an Alty win was a fair result. Having 2 players go off injured undoubtedly hampered our game plan and that has to be factored into any honest assessment of the game too.

Of the new boys, I thought Drench had the odd iffy moment but looked decent, Piggott up top was a great outlet and read the game well and Waterson as at Lem played well in the time available.

Difficult to judge the away support as divided between behind the goal, the paddock and the main stand but gurstimate about 400.

Well played Alty anyway, and also finally we’ve beaten FCUM...

When we had Dale on one wing and Johnson on the other, teams couldn’t cope with us, we were playing the ball all over the pitch.
Chester away was the example, in the first half we absolutely ripped them apart, with balls being played wide left and right.
Our only outlet now is Johnson.

Old Alt harsh assessment on Piggott, thought he looked a good outlet with often limited service, not really sure what you were watching.

Williams was miles off it today, a passenger.

Lucky 3 points but gladly taken. Great home end with a truly wank away stand.

A superb save at 1 nil and could do nothing about the goal

Biggest difference Drench made was his willingness to come for crosses, he made at least 2 punches from corners where Thompson would have left them.

Still can't believe there were no yellow cards.

I wonder what Tom Peers is making of his decision to leave now? Might have been guaranteed seven starts.
