I wish they would just tell us. Not everybody lives local and can't stay after the game...

I'll make sure there's an online announcement at the same time of the one at the ground mate.

I presume that the "significant announcement concerning the club" will comprise a contract extension for Parkinson & Sorvel rather than any revelation of a momentous change of ownership/chairman.

Mind you, in these current volatile times you wouldn't rule out Sir Graham Brady suddenly becoming Alty's new chairman and next season's kit sponsor being Jacob Rees-Mogg's global emerging markets investment management firm.

Alternatively, Matt Doughty could be returning to run the club's Twitter account.

Or perhaps scientists have finally discovered how to clone George Heslop?

Of all of the above scenarios, I hope it's the first.

Or maybe part full time

If I had to make a semi informed guess it’s a contract extension for PP and Sorvs. Though I do believe the full time options are actively being considered.

I’d be amazed if it was just that. Surely that’s not such surprising news it warrants the big build up and reveal?

I understand why people would be (rightly) pleased to hear the managers are staying around for another year, but I’d consider signing up a young manager who is hitting all his objectives so far is just a normal part of running a football club, rather than a “significant announcement concerning the club”.
In fact, I’d be more shocked to hear they weren’t already signed to the longest possible contract we could get them to agree to.

Sounds like a crap thing to say, but I'd be extremely careful what you wish for. Losing a great manager to a bigger club is much better than things going sour and having multiple years to pay up.
