Blyth Spartans Match Thread
« on: April 28, 2019, 09:59:08 AM »

                            Thompson

Densmore.  Jones.   Hannigan.  Hampson

                       Moult.  Williams

  Johnston.     Hancock.     Ceesay

                         Hulme

If we score first I think we'll win. Massive blow for them as  Robbie Dale has gone on holiday.

Alty 2-1 Blyth. Hulme 2

Huge one off games. I would go Wynne or Drench.

I agree with Robins stockport over the team barring injuries. Tough game but I smell a victory.

Come on Alty

Good luck PP and the lads.

I'm not predicting anything scorewise ...I know the lads will run themselves into the ground I hope they can relax and play their football and defend like lions....a patient 1-0 would do...no pressure

O Needham how stupid will you look if a drench or wynne error costs us.....TT has been the keeper who got us here your comment is frankly disgraceful....it's just as likely an outfield player's error could cost us .....they're a team and there are strengths and weaknesses throughout that could win win us the game or cost us.

TT is more likely to make a world class save in the last second to win the match!

Can see this going all the way maybe to extra time and penalties. If Robbie Dale is on holiday that should be a big blow to them. TT will be in goal I'm sure

Robbie Dale going away on holiday may very well have tipped the balance in our favour. I think we're all looking for advantages in anything now!

Disgraceful......?

Just my opinion as it is a forum.

I obviously want him to do really well  but in some high pressured games, Stockport away for example he can lose his head.

My observations are over 2 seasons not just recent games. He has made some good point blank saves which he is good at but I am just concerned about shots from distance, him coming for crosses and how nervous he looks when the ball is played back to him.

I always hope he proves me wrong and wish him the best of luck!

Alty 4/5
Draw 13/5
Blyth 5/2

Sadly that's quite a tempting price for Blyth given their form and the fact it's a one-off playoff game. Hope the bookies are proven correct, they usually are!

I'll miss Chorley (if we get there), from a selfish point of view I could have done with them and Brackley finishing the other way round...

Blimey, what a game that was.

To come back from 2-0 down and go through shows great team spirit and determination from the lads.
Took us a while to get going, almost too long as Blyth were impressive in the first half, especially going forward, but faded a lot in the second half, when we dominated most of it.
Jake was superb, as were Tom H, James Jones and Tony T - solid throughout and made a crucial very good save just after we made it 2-2.

Support was great, bit of a shame some silly boys goaded the away end on the pitch after the pens, no need for it really, but the stewards and kitman helped deal with it well.

Well done PP, NS and the lads! COME ON ALTY!

Wow!!

Great comeback and team spirit. Josh with a fantastic equaliser and final penalty. TT for an amazing save second half and penalty save.

On to Chorley now.
