If, at the start of the season, someone had told me we would be fighting so well in the play-offs, I would have thought they were intensely optimistic!

PP, his team and the players have been immense and, supported by the board, have exceeded certainly my expectations.

My congratulations to all involved - not least the magnificent support - on an excellent league season.

Absolutely ! I'd have taken your hand off if you'd offered me a playoff spot - I was hoping to finish in mid-table while we consolidated.

I believe that, with no big clubs coming down, and no obvious rich teams in the mix, this league will be easier to win next season. We are now perfectly placed to push on next term. Forza Alty !

Agreed, it could be very open next season, without Stockport, Chorley / Spennymore, you wonder who would be favourites for the league ?
There are a few of sleping giants, York, Chester and Hereford, and you wonder if they will get their act together. Whilst Blyth looked a great team, they have a poor attendance figures (ave. 801), and Brackley have an average of 645, so you question wether they can continue to challenge.

Mega proud of the management and team.

The last two years have been, for the majority of time, quality and more importantly enjoyable.

I wouldn't want to watch Chorley each week with their left to right cross into the box.

At times we may have not had a plan B but I will take that for the journey we have been on.

The support keeps on getting better and next season we will go again.

There's no announcement. I would IMAGINE that pen would not be put to paper until we knew which division we would be in, because it would be strange if they weren't to be paid more at national level. I hope Ray "has heard" correctly, and from a reliable source because they deserve such a contract, and the club need to ensure that they're compensated if a bigger club comes knocking with an offer that can't be refused.

They've possibly agreed verbally in principle, and an announcement may be made this week if that's the case. Then they can concentrate on the retained list, and getting the squad signed up

Excellent season indeed. Certainly a few league places above my expectation at the start of the season, and it’s definitely now there to build on for next season in what looks a weaker league already.

Let’s hope Chorley go up next week. They might have looked a busted flush at times yesterday, as teams can in the POs after narrowly missing out on the league title, but the top 2 have looked a step up from everyone else over the course of the season, and so getting rid of both of them and no big sides dropping down would be a massive bonus.

Now isn’t the time to talk about individual players, but if we can both strengthen and retain in the right areas over the summer, then there looks no reason we can’t at least reduce the gap between ourselves and the teams challenging at the very top of the league next season.
