2213 ex Chester gets into Vic 2317; trams to Alty from Picc Gardens 2334 & 2346. The National Rail site says no disruption to that service on 6th August, but to get to Chester Station in time to catch it would require either a taxi or a talent for middle-distance running.

The time and money spent connecting to get into town means you're better off just sticking on the 22:13 through to Victoria, arriving at 23:17 and either:

a) getting a tram from Victoria [last tram 23:34 but change at Cornbrook] or

b) jumping in a taxi once you hit town, which I'll probably opt for as the tram will be tedious at that time.

The main concern is getting from the ground to the station in time. Nightmare walk.
