Drench and Hannigan
« on: August 24, 2019, 09:45:25 PM »

I have a concern with Drench's injury: might it be related to that which kept him out for so long last season?

As for Hannigan's injury/suspension; it concerns me that we have no cover at centre half with Moult still out. Who would cover that position if we lose another centre half?

MULLARKEY is indeed class, but what if we have an injury?

Drench has snapped his Achilles ....a little more serious than “ turned his ankle” !!  Could be his season done, out for months at least.

Absolute massive loss. Gutted.

We need a proven decent keeper ASAP.

Big opportunity for TT to show us what he can do. Ended last season brilliantly and he was unlucky not to start this season. I think he organises the defence better than Drench, he's more vocal and is better on crosses into the box where we've looked vunerable this season. Huge blow losing Drench though as he has been generally solid and his distribution at times has been clever and accurate. Wishing him a speedy recovery

It's also absolutely essential we don't deploy Joel Bembo-Leta at right back and Kyle Perry up front.

On that note, may I be the first to say that John Mcaliskey is not the answer this team needs? Whether or not Billy Hassler-Cregg will provide quality down the wing remains to be seen. Sort it out Heathcote.

Possibly Branson might be emergency central defensive cover. If Hannigan is fit by Sept 14th the expense involved in a loan signing will not  be necessary, but if the report on Drench is accurate we will certainly need a second keeper. Finding someone who would be prepared to sit on the bench here rather than get a game elsewhere and is of an acceptable standard will be far from easy, though.

Hampson can fill in at centre half if required. White to left back, Dens in on the right.

Densmore appeared to have a problem with his knee during the half-ttime kickabout. That might affect the situation should it turn out to be in any way serious.
