Also the players themselves may be wary in playing in this game for fear of being injured and missing out on playing at Pompey.

I think we should rest the below but I don't think PP will because it back fired last season.

I would sacrifice the trophy for a good go at Portsmouth. I also think York will be very physical and risk injuries.

Thompson
Jones
Hannigan
Dens
Moult
JJ
Hulme
Hancock

I would start

Reserve keeper
RB White
LB Hampson
CB Mallarkey
CB Reserve player

DM Richman
CM Williams
LM Wall
RM Reserve player

No.10 Harrop
ST Peers

We have this debate at least once a season - and for good reason.

I'd do a bit of 'gentle rotation' and bring in Tuesday's subs at the very least (plus Peers).

Good chance for him to trial a 4-5-1 for Pompey, as suggested somewhere else, if that's what he's thinking?

Shouldn't change our style of play for the FA Cup game. We need to get at them. Sit back and they will pick us off.

Agreed. When does Lewis Walters loan deal end? Could we bring Archer in who’s on dual reg.?

Glad to see that Phil Parkinson disregarded One Foot in the Grave's advice and fielded a strong team at York City!

As others on this thread have already noted, this team is all about momentum.

It's worth recalling that Stockport County reached both the FA Cup Second Round and FA Trophy Semi-Final last season and yet still managed to attain promotion.

York could play till morning and not score.

Yeah, they had moments but generally we had control.

That is a top result.

Just hoping everyone remained fit.

Well done lads. Keep this going and let's get at Portsmouth.

Relieved to be proved wrong, especially if it wiped the smug grin off Durrell's face. Of course, since it's written in the stars that we play the same clubs in both Cup and Trophy, we can look forward to visiting Chester yet again after their win at Brackley.

Boston United can't look forward at all after losing at Atherton Collieries  :D
