Really up for this, we can cause them trouble. Ceesay huge lost.

Stick to our usual formation and game plan.

GK Thompson

RB Dens
LB White
CB Hannigan
CB Jones

DM Moult
CM Williams

LM JJ
RM Peers

No.10 Hancock
ST Hulme

11 v 11 one off game, let's get at them from the off. Have them on the back foot.

Portsmouth 1/5
Draw 11/2
Alty 12/1

Value bet, James Jones to score at anytime 25/1

Given our limited attacking options I'd like to see Walters on the bench

Seems they like to shoot from outside the box so we can’t afford to stand off them

I think Walters is cup-tied, having played for Buxton on one of his numerous loans.
I don't gamble, apart from being part of a lottery syndicate, but that bet on James Jones to score should be tempting for anyone who does.

They're on great form (like ourselves) and I'm not hopeful - but should be a great day for everyone nonetheless.

I'm very Hopeful going for a 1-1 85th minute equaliser by Hulme to send the
 600 fans mental.

Were the underdogs, expected to lose, nothing to lose. Lets go for it and make us proud.

Come on Alty.

I have a friend who lives in Portsmouth and goes to some of the games. He asked me what I thought of our chances and I told him I was going more in hope than expectation as they are after all 3 levels above us, but there is alwaays some hope (however slim).

His response was:

"Always a hope in the cup. Pompey are a bit prone to nerves when they are favoured and struggle at home at times. So you never know."

It should be a good day out whatever happens and I just hope that if we get beat that it isn't a hiding.

Anything can happen in a one off cup game. JJ could break free early doors and get taken out so we're up against 10. Equally, we could score early and their crowd turns against them generating panic. It ain't over til it's over. I expect us to lose, not get hammered and the lads to give it their all. I hope we'll score. I pray for a draw or a win. I'm more hopeful of a good weekend away to be honest.
