Farsley Match Thread

Negatives are, away from home no Ceesay and I assume Johnson. Positives it's a cup tie and we'll be in red and white.

Will want to make amends from what was (by all accounts) a poor performance on Saturday and stop the loosing streak (3).

Farsley 1-1 Altrincham. Wall

We can win this - and frankly we need to.

Thought we'd bring in cover for Ceesay and JJ, so perhaps the latter's injury isn't as bad as it looked on Saturday. Farsley have done brilliantly at home this season and will prove every bit as difficult an opposition as BPA. Saying that though, we are better than them. If we are on our game, we'll win. The red and white will definitely help!

Fair play to both teams who still tried to play on that pitch.

Main talking point was the disallowed goal/penalty/free kick/drop ball. I've no idea what went but very grateful for outcome or we would be out.

Very impressed with their 2 CBS also very unimpressed with Hampson and Peers. Our new loanee looked decent, but must wondering if all pitches are of that standard.

Believe the replay is Tuesday. Still not seen us lose

Indeed, fair play to both teams, who somehow managed to make an entertaining game on that surface. Thought Jordan did brilliantly against a pair of excellent centre backs. TT was motm for a string of excellent saves. I'm confident we'll get through at home - Farsley didn't look half as good at our place.
Every season, we get at least one complete knob of an official and today was it.

I thought the draw was a fair result. Let's hope our pitch is playable on Tuesday. The referee was absolutely bizarre.

Minimal rain forecast between now and Tuesday night. Going to be flipping cold though.

Why didn't we agree with them to play through to a conclusion? Surely, given our likely fixture pileup (and a couple more months of potential call-offs) this is something we would have proposed? Similarly, I can't imagine they would have relished the prospect of coming over here on a cold Tuesday night.

We've obviously just lost another fixture - I can't see us making up ground to the playoffs if this continues to be the case.

Or, do you think Phil fancies the Trophy run and wants to bank as much money as possible this season, seeing the return fixture as the best chance of doing this?

It would have been sensible although I thought we were coming under more pressure as the game went on.

I notice Kings Lynn's game went to penalties so they are clearly looking to manage the fixture backlog

To be fair both sides have to agree so we don't know if Farsley wanted a one off conclusion either. Bottom line is that now we have a home replay against a side we've already beaten comfortably this season at Moss Lane for a place in the last 32. If we beat Farsley and get a good (home? Lol!) draw I can begin to see why we might prioritise the Trophy over the league.

I assumed that might have been the case until I saw the Kings Lynn result.

Forecast for next 36 hours isn't too bad. Shouldn't be any danger of a postponement.
