It's the lad I feel sorry for... bad injuries and he picked up an expensive contract while they were still in the Premier League.

Hope he can dust himself off and go again - a club like Salford for example would be ideal if he's fully fit.

Best place for him to 'dust himself down' is coming back where he is loved and taking it from there

Easy for us to say but realistically it is not. He needs to stay as high as he can for as long as he can

Not long ago he was a Premiership footballer playing for England. He has been unlucky with injuries which have sidelined him for long periods whilst his club has been relegated twice and failed to bounce back.

I suspect his injuries have had a big part to play in the decision to release him. Maybe this could be a case where another club with another approach to training, medical care etc can sort him out and he regains the form that took him to a top-flight club in the first place.

As suggested earlier, an ambitious L1/L2 club could relaunch his career. Let's hope it works out for Duncan, because I do not want to see him back at Alty just yet !

Does anyone know if we are able to sign players for the playoffs? Maybe he can play 3 games for us to advertise his abilities to the world!

Duncan's a bit of an ususual case, as we know, due to his qualifications.

Weirder things have happened than him deciding his future lies outside football - but he can keep it as a PT side hustle for a couple of years.

Imagine...

For what it's worth he has been linked with Coventry, although given they've gone up I can't see him getting a Championship gig.

He signs a contract for us so that we can sell him to a bigger club?

Wishful thinking?

I’ve always thought a club like Bournemouth would be ideal  for Duncan. I wish him well for the future in whatever he decides

I wish Duncan all the best for the future.
That tackle on him at Wycombe was horrendous

I can see Duncan maybe coming to Alty at the end of his playing days at a higher level, but I really would not want that to be for a few years.

I just want to see him fulfill his enormous potential, and if he can stay injury free for a few years and retain his lightening pace on the ball, he surely will - because he really is that talented znd he deserves his time in the sun.

There will be a club willing to snap him up, and when that happens I will be following every single game he plays and willing him to success.
