RE; Mike Farrelly
« on: June 26, 2020, 05:42:43 PM »

So very very sorry to hear of the death of Mike Farrelly, as reported on Alty's twitter account just now.

Remember him for the goal in particular against Runcorn in the 1986 FA Trophy Final.

Rest in peace Mike, and commiserations to all your family and friends. I can still feel the crowd surge forward carrying me 4 rows down when he scored, and my wife trying to grab me!!

Fond memories!

I last saw him very briefly at Noel White's funeral.  His Wembley goal is one of the iconic moments in our history.  Another legend leaves us.  RIP Mike

Very sad news. Like everybody else, I immediately think of the Wembley goal in 1986 as one of the great moments in the club's history.

Very sad to learn of the death of Mike Farrelly at the age of 57.

He achieved Altrincham FC immortality in May 1986 though:
