If testing has to happen at the start of next  season clubs surely cant be expected to or  afford to pay for it.

More over, with outdoor theatre, gyms, pools etc. returning this month, has it officially been confirmed by the government or football authorities that there will definitely be no crowds for the full duration of the playoffs? With progress on reopening elsewhere, one might, all being well, hope for news on crowds at sporting events over the next few weeks, unless it is considered uniquely dangerous to stand on an open terrace 2m  from other people. What, for example, if in a week or two, the government announces that, from the 1st of August, crowds will be allowed at sporting events with a limited capacity? Will this affect the playoffs and has any consideration been given to it, because there are obviously a number of possible issues that scenario would throw up?

I imagine testing is needed to ensure an outbreak doesn’t derail professional sport. If a Sunday league has to close down due to an outbreak the consequences are not as great so they aren’t requiring the expense of testing at lower levels
