Notts Co 2/5
Draw 7/2
Alty 7/1

Great value being 7/1 in a two horse race. And 7/2 for the draw decent also

Don't know why (probably delusional rabid Altyitis) but I do fancy us to get something out of this game.

PS.
Wonder what odds are on offer for Notts County 0 Alty 1 (Peers) 😉?

This is a good test to see where we are at, and what areas need attention.

Anything is possible with regards to the result. Players need to treat as any old match and not the occasion of playing in a large stadium.

What are people thinking in terms of the team?

Given Toby is showing some glimpses of some real quality, could we look to slot Sutton in and push everyone a position up the pitch?

I know Williams hasn't had much of a go at No10 for us, but that's where he's excelled for other clubs and could work well.

Similarly we know Hanks can play up top, and against opposition like this we need someone who's going to be able to hold the ball up (as well as knowing where the net is).

              Thompson

Dens  Sutton  Hannigan  White

          Mullarkey  Moult

    Ceesay  Williams  Kosylo

                Hancock

Before thinking about the outcome, I spent half an hour reflecting on the fact that we are facing Notts. County in the league. Putting aside the fall they've had for now this game is a fantastic testimony to the work the management team, players, board and fans have put in over the past few years. Thank you.

One all draw.

I'd go:
             Thompson

Densmore Sutton  Hannigan  White

          Richman Moult

    Peers Hancock Kosylo

                Cisse

Harsh to drop Mallarky, but wondering if Sutton's experience would be good here, not a game to trial him in CM for the first game, especially as Richman is traditionally good on big away pitched (Boston, Lincoln, Grimsby) so gets the nod against Williams and Mallarky.

Cisse up top to get in behind and stretch them Let Hancock and Kosylo pull the strings to get in behind.

Almost the same from me but I'd be tempted to pick Mullarkey instead of peers and drop him in the midfield

I'd go with the MarpleAlty team above. Yes, it's not Josh's most effective position at number 9 but we'd be very difficult to break down with that team.

'Harsh to drop Malarkey'!

It would be outrageous

We've essentially got three first choice CBs. One with ample experience in the conference the other just a single game in which he did well.

Sutton is an expensive and experienced player to warm the bench for six months. We may move Mallarky in to midfield on Wednesday.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Dens on the bench with Hampson coming in. Dens did nothing wrong on Saturday and his energy levels were good, I just think PP might manage him as an older player and not give him 2 games in 4 days.

Apparently they insist on playing it out of the back, and get done by a high press.  On that basis, it would have been a top assignment for Jordan  >:(

I think Ceesay up top wouldn't be the best idea, to be honest - I think we need someone of Hancock's quality up there to make the ball stick for us.

Same re: dropping Mullarkey - not sure the experience thing can be held against him when we threw him into the playoffs headfirst and saw how he fared.
