I'd go with the MarpleAlty team above. Yes, it's not Josh's most effective position at number 9 but we'd be very difficult to break down with that team.

I've got this hunch that he'd be a bit of a revelation there, plus I think we'll find it easier backfilling his own role than finding someone to replace Jordan at short notice.

All we can do is play the hand we've been dealt currently, I think it would be worth a go.

Apparently they insist on playing it out of the back, and get done by a high press.  On that basis, it would have been a top assignment for Jordan  >:(

I think Ceesay up top wouldn't be the best idea, to be honest - I think we need someone of Hancock's quality up there to make the ball stick for us.

Same re: dropping Mullarkey - not sure the experience thing can be held against him when we threw him into the playoffs headfirst and saw how he fared.

Seeing Cisse at York and Chorley when he can carry the ball from deep or knock the ball in to channels and catch it, shows an alternative option.
I'd have moved him through the middle of Saturday when the channels were waterlogged. Plus PP remarked Cisse wasn't just a winger and a potential plan B.
If you look at the goal (we should have but got a pen) against Chester, that was a ball that we burst through, and Cisse could do the same - against slower CBs.

As for Mallarky, we had no other option in the playoffs. It's similar to when we had Havern Marshall and Leather last time, we opted to interchange based on the game ahead. We're playing twice a week for several weeks so I do expect we'll need to be able to rotate our CBs and FBs - especially on heavy pitches and with long travel time.

I'd go:
             Thompson

Densmore Sutton  Hannigan  White

          Richman Moult

    Peers Hancock Kosylo

                Cisse

Harsh to drop Mallarky, but wondering if Sutton's experience would be good here, not a game to trial him in CM for the first game, especially as Richman is traditionally good on big away pitched (Boston, Lincoln, Grimsby) so gets the nod against Williams and Mallarky.

Cisse up top to get in behind and stretch them Let Hancock and Kosylo pull the strings to get in behind.

Dropping Mullarkey or Hannigan would be a strange decision and one I don't see Parky doing & I don't think this is the game for Mullarkey to be played in midfield, he is unlikely to get the amount of time on the ball to be properly effective in that role.  I would also say Joel Senior's pace would be very useful against Notts' quick attack and I think that will be weighed up against Densmore's experience in these kind of games.  Same for White/Hampson.  Richman or Williams is also interesting but maybe Parky will opt for Richman's slightly better defensive ability in a game that we will likely be doing most of the defending.  Mentioned it the other day that I'd like to see Clayton in that kind of playmaker striker role and I also think it would be beneficial to have two narrow wingers pressing their defence if they are keen to play it out along the floor.  On Saturday, Ceesay looked very good at recovering the ball which could be massive for us on Wednesday.

                   Thompson(GK)

Senior  Mullarkey  Hannigan  Hampson

            Richman      Moult(c)

                    Hancock

                     Clayton
    Kosylo                          Ceesay

We'd be overrun in midfield with that side imho

Can't see who makes the midfield better unless you start Williams over Clayton?

Certainly that; also, Sutton for Mullarkey who moves up to replace Richman.
