Just been on BBC Breakfast, Robbie Savage to be Head of Football Operations.

Currently speaking live from Macclesfield so don't know whether he lives there.

Also doesn't indicate whether he will make any financial contribution.

A Welshman living in Macclesfield could put a huge amount of livestock at risk....

 ;D So funny One foot..

He was on BBC news last night, his U15 team was playing at Moss Rose

The owner was there as well, apparently his son was born in Macc and went to a nearby school, interesting to see which league they are placed in.

I thought the bloke who's bought Macclesfield already owned Stockport Town (late Woodley Sports) in the NWCL? What's the rules about owning two clubs in the pyramid?
They might even end up in the same league. How about that for a conflict of interest?!!

I would think he'll relinquish Stockport Town.

He announced that he would be disposing of Stockport Town on the same day he announced he was buying the assets of Macclesfield Town. Why shouldn't he start planning revenue generation schemes?

He also announced that they will be laying a 4G pitch to create further income steams.

Just being a voice for all those small businesses they didn’t pay before they dissolved into thin air. They’ll be no debts honoured from any revenue streams they create because the clubs got new faces now. Just got an unpleasant smell about it.

Where do you draw the line on all this though? They've been publicly humiliated, wound up in the courts, and their next league match will probably be 5 or 6 divisions below their last one (our drop of two divisions was excruciating enough).  That's the price they are paying for starting anew and the debts not being honoured, painful as it clearly would be for those out of pocket. If the new guy is trying to build something sustainable then fair play.

That's a matter for the previous owner. This is a new football club and a different owner. If it was a case of the old guy relaunching it you'd have a point. In your model you'd be expecting the guy that buys the corner shop to pay the debts of the previous occupant.

Is that known as "Arkwright's Syndrome" ?😉

I'd expect them to have a little more decorum than Macc have shown this week with the sports bar whilst local suppliers will have lost out. They have bought the assets for no doubt pence in the pound - including a Twitter account with the clubs old badge used to launch this new bar.

Money can buy a football club, but doesn't buy the ability to read the room.

Think they're going to be paying local suppliers upfront for quite some time!
