Quarter of the season gone

Just over, in fact, but do you think the league standard is better or worse than expected?

Do you think we will finish higher or lower than anticipated (based on where you thought we would finish with bit having Jordan)

The standard is way below what I expected.

And to be on repeat, we are one player ( striker ) short of pushing for playoffs ( if we keep all fit, when they return ).

Agreed but I’d say two players - smith is only on a month’s loan. I still think we are short in CM as well as striker

Would be interesting to do a quarter-season report on recruitment - let's see (I've tried to rank them a little bit):

Matty Kosylo - excellent
Joel Senior - very good
Alistair Smith (loan) - very good
Ritchie Sutton - good
Ryan Colclough - looks like he'll show his quality
Billy Sass-Davies (loan) - quite good
Joe Robbins (loan) - looks OK
Matt Gould - hard to say but looks OK
Andy Dales (loan) - looked good but injury curtailed his impact
Jamie McDonald - hard to say just yet
Fisayo Adarabioyo - jury's out
Max Clayton - didn't work
Darren Potter - didn't work

More hits than misses, for sure - I think we've done well, and in no small part to our management team getting the best out of players too.

Much worse but I think we have changed too, we cant go gung ho anymore and try and score more than them.  It feels as if we are playing a different sport, it fine and accurate, its not all guts and thunder.  We look good to stay up, thats all at the moment

It's about consolidation this season...…...as much as I would love the old 3 promotions in four years fairy-story, I think we need at least a season at this level to stabilise. A cup run like Marine or Stockport next season and who knows.

PPG we are doing ok in my opinion.

Penalty at Hartlepool, some sloppy defending at home against Aldershot, playing Weymouth at football rather than water-polo, taking the chances at Wealdstone and we who knows, we could be right up there ;D

The margins are much closer at this level. That's the main difference.

Yes there have been games we might have won but there are others where we did better than we might have done.

The biggest lesson to be learned is concentration from kick off until the final whistle.
Hopefully conceding early and trying to chase the game has been addressed.

At the start of the season I'd have been very happy to be where we are now.
Staying up is the main thing. If we can achieve midtable with our current striking options, and splash the cash for a 20 a season lad for next season then I'd be very happy indeed.
