I thought Jake's first yellow was soft, the second one is an absolute joke.  Had he been a premier league player he'd have fallen over instead of turning round and Torquay guy is off.  Getting booked for turning round quickly when someone bumps into you is just bizarre.

Bizarre indeed. There's a few seconds been edited out where the ref gave their guy a yellow but the incident is on there in full. No yellow card was shown to Jake. The referee was very picky all night. We used that to our advantage to break up the game for most of the second half.

And on those highlights, you can just about see the ref giving Jake the second yellow. It looks like the ref was influenced by the Torquay keeper in particular saying something to the effect of 'if you're going to book our guy, you need to book their guy as well'. A competent ref would have pointed out that would only be the case if Jake had retaliated, which he plainly didn't.

If we'd have taken penalties like that over the last few years we'd be in the championship by now!

or football league championship two at any rate, it was ridiculous how good both teams were in the Blyth shootout, and how much worse Alty were against Chorley. Perhaps the players were just tired? (Think of that famous Lancaster penalty miss that gets into the blooper videos).

Jake got a card for THAT?

Ryan's  goal was a gem. Such skill made to look easy!

I would love to know what he officially got his yellow card for. Isn't there a referee's report or anything?
