Pwllheli and District?

And the boy Howarth unleashes a tremendous Hampsonesque 30-yard piledriver into the top corner of the net!

Pwllheli & District: an ignominious 1-0 FA Trophy defeat at Moss Lane back on 5th December 1973.

Following the postponement of the original fixture on Saturday, 1st December, the rearranged tie was played on the ensuing Wednesday afternoon (unable to use floodlights owing to the three-day week and the associated power cuts).

SC**thorpe & Lindsey United. Not strictly correct as they dropped the middle bit in 1958.

Pwllheli and District?

Yes, that is the competitive match in the Trophy and I remember a friendly at Windsor & Eton.

Full marks for dredging that one up from the darkest recesses of your memory.

5th August 1989: Windsor & Eton 0  Altrincham 2.

I remember the Pwllheli game but a friendly at Windsor and Eton? Odd, how come we would even have considered such a distant PSF?

I didn't go, even though I remembered it, but I think it was a team bonding exercise for a weekend away. We have had similar long distance friendlies in Ireland and the Isle of Man.
