Well, he does have form for defecting to the enemy.

He deserted us for the bright lights of Northwich Victoria back in early December 2004.

Not that I bear any grudges....

As with Cult, I wish him all the best.

However these kind of things can be forgiven... But never forgotten.

I used to think the song was "oh Bandy Bandy, he signed for Alty fc in a pile of...."

I seem to remember his wife was quite involved with the club too. And one time he got injured going into a barrier - running through brick walls for the club and all that. I don't hold it against Robbie Savage either, Then again I didn't hold it against Stuart Terry. Well, not really. And speaking of which - Hulme's "disrespectful" comment about Peers (like he would be the only one) - oh come on. What about Brian's interview with Rod and Gary Scott a bit sgo. Chris Adams on the phone to Rod and he told Brian - "he was one of the poorer players to be fsir"! I don't think any worse of Rod for that. It's just banter!

Good luck to Bandy - always an Alty man for me.

Mrs Band will no doubt be 'having a word'.....she is one of our own  ;D

Mick,

I hate to disillusion you but Peter Band has recently confessed to the cardinal sin of being a (long-standing) Macc supporter, so his Alty credentials are clearly in tatters:

https://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.com/latest-news/non-league-paper/389459/hillmen-in-hunt-as-band-is-lured-by-macc/

In addition, I believe that he and Mrs. Band went their separate ways a while ago.

Thank you Barry for putting me straight. I had read the Bandy article, but put it down to the "always been a fan-supported them as a boy with my Grandad" type of comment that players make when joining their dream club....

Sorry to hear Mrs Band might not be having word and I won't make light of the situation because I once shared a table with them on a club night out and enjoyed their company

Pete and Louise parted ways quite a few years ago now and I believe she doesn’t get down as much as she used to do due to working within the police.
