How many players would you keep and pay a Full Time wage next year if its a case of FT or leave, less if we can keep some PT

I have 8. Thompson, Senior, Hannigan, Smith, Kosylo, Colclough, Hancock, Hardy

Full time football will probably be too late in the careers for Tom Hannigan and Josh Hancock, both 30. Maybe even Matty Kosylo at 28. I agree with that choice of players though. I'd expect a hybrid mix of part and full time staff with those mentioned and younger longer term prospects coming in FT. I know that going full time gives PP and NS the time to build relationships with other clubs, notably league academies who play some of their games during the day in midweek - PP & NS will now have the time to look at such players.

Hannigan left Fylde because he wasn't prepared to go full time.

I think the way it work is any incoming players will be full time. Current part time players will be sold/loaned or move on at a when it suits both parties.

So a hybrid model for 2 years then fully full time.

Yep, according to the recent Parky, Sorvs, Bill you tube piece it appears hybrid next season with FT season after (or possibly season after that depending on revenue reserve we create next season)... if say 2yrs would probably be too late for FT contract for some regulars in their 30s... however, as of now i'd defo keep for next season...

Thompson, Senior, Mullarkey, Hannigan, Hampson, Moult, Smith, Kosylo, Hancock, Colclough, Hardy...

Of these the class & younger ones need to be put on decent contracts ie Senior, Hampson, Smith, Colclough, Kosylo, Hancock... especially Smith, Senior, & Colclough who i personally think are three fighting for Player of Season Award.

Obviously, hoping for few new faces in summer, including a decent 15-20plus goalscorer...

In my opinion priorities are centre back, left back centre mid and stiker.Wonder if it will be a squad of around 20 with half full time and half part time?

The f/t or p/t issue is not just age related.  Some among our current players will be looking to the point beyond football and devoting more time to the jobs/careers that they have already established.  It’s a big gamble to switch to f/t for anyone in the mid-twenties or older.

Surprised about Mooney's omission by many - he's had a frustrating season with injuries but he's excellent on his day, young and a very saleable asset just like many of the other lads.

I think it's because he's a bit off the radar due to his injury problems. Like Fisayo Adarabioyo (remember him?)
An interesting comment by PP though about the problem with relative lack of gym and other facilities to hasten returns to fitness being looked at being addressed. Wonder what that might mean. Moves towards our own training facility? That would be a real step forward for us.

We all know that part time + good job = more cash for family and future than FT......so for some of the over 30s it is not a good option as legs start to fade and responsibilites at work increase. Pretty sure we have a few teachers and saw an article in a magazine about Hanks combining football with a promising career.

Indeed Hanks is Head of Commercial at Bruntwood, a nationwide property specialists. They turned over 160.1m with £1.4bn in assets in the last financial year. He’s got a well paid job.

Was just looking through this season's digital home programmes & reading player profiles which showed those with careers outside footy... of those listed, all bar one had jobs...

TT - Scaffolder
Senior - class as Footballer
Hannigan - App Developer
Hampson - Teacher
Moult - Property Renovation
Colclough - Barista (likes a coffee!)
Hancock - Commercial Head at Property Experts
Gould - Goalkeeping Coach
Sutton - Coach (home school kids during lockdown)
Williams - Coach at Liverpool

NB not asked Smith, White, Richman, Dens, Peers, Kosylo, Mooney, etc yet BUT does show a lot of the squad do have jobs that supplement (or even pay more) than their footy salary...

Hence, with several being in late 20s or older & a footballer's career limited to average 35 (plus uncertainty each year if being kept on) would some of the present squad reject going Full Time for financial safety of their families of remaining PT with 2nd job as safety option... players in our league are paid nowhere near Prem Lge wages, even full time ones... some players will have to make big decisions at some point & maybe take a risk...

Some hard calls for both club & players in near future re FT footy, but to progress may mean taking risks to get to next level... however, players need to think of families as well...
