Im really looking forward to it though and I'll be at the match tonight too

I rememebr years and years ago the BBC were covering some story or other (not footie) and they had the G in the middle.  This must have been about 1979 - 1980.

It'll happen again, personally I've got far more worrying things to contend with!

Anyone up for making a petition to make it illegal to use the G in Altrincham....fines of £100 for incorrect use, all money going to Altrincham FC?  ;)

The pharmacy next to the Pelican in Timperley has a new fascia which has their address on... Yes, they've spelt it Altringham ::)

Well in actual fact Altrincham did used to be spelt with a G.

Alt = Hill
Tring = The general or something in charge of the town back in Roman Days.
Ham = Town

The town of Tring on the hill.

Some historical news for you.

Many (those involved with transport in particular) struggle greatly to spell Bowdon correctly, spelling it Bowden instead.

Ah yes, one of the more common mis-spelt words!
