i think it is more of a comment towards the way fixtures etc. are set out now than a 'pull out'. the fixtures have been so messed up that the attendances in this league are going to be down because were having lots of night and thursday night games  >:( bring back the saturday games! and only a few tuesday night games i think.

As far as I know we always have loads of midweek Tuesday games early on in the season anyway ? So they've put a few Thursdays in .. So what ?

Maybe you just haven't got the fan base to support a full time club ...
Now wonder if I've heard anyone say that before ??
.. Clubs needs to open their eyes .. Simple as.

I'm terrificly confused here as I heard FGR's hardcore was 1,000 ish.

The only thing I can think of that's happened here is the original figure was inaccurate.

I love the fact that the paper says, despite a relegation battle FGRs average attendance was "nearly 1500".

"nearly 1,500"..... it was 1,185 which although reasonable isn't quite the same thing!  ::)

Thats Kidderminster and Forest Green officials Ive heard now saying they spent loads in the summer, to therefore improve the team and work towards promotion...they seem to believe that success in turn will increase crowds which then pays for the players they've spent on....

So basically they believe:

Spend money on players and team improvements------->Which improves league position and success------->Which increases attendences-------->Which pays for the players they bought

They need to realise that attendences just wont always increase to the extent of paying players the amount of money being splashed around.
WHEN WILL THEY LEARN!?!?!?!?!    ::)

instead of jumping to conclusions of your own maybe you should read some of the comments from our chairman on our forum. he is as ever inviting fans to talk to him and he plans pretty well on how to run a football club. i think he and many fans like myself are disappointed with the turn out this year compared to last season.

I never said he didnt know how to run a football club etc etc I said some clubs are misjudging how much money they can spend and that money spent on players doesnt equal bigger attendences.

What I can't understand is that they make no secret that they've got a small support base, rugby is popular down there etc etc, yet they are trying to establish a full time set up.  The only thing I can assume FGR are doing is that they've got a cash surplus after selling the ground and they're giving it a go.  Fair play if they're doing that, but I cannot see how it will last in the long run.
