Millwall supporters
« on: November 11, 2007, 01:04:41 AM »

Considering all the negative reports I thought the behaviour of the Millwall fans should be mentioned..........no problems with the 300 ish that turned up today. Stood out in the wind and light drizzle and supported their team (although a little quiet.......but I can see why !).

Also; they stayed in position behind their goal and to their great credit in my opinion, totally ignored the 20 or so 'imposter' Altrincham supporters who from kick-off moved over into the corner to sing derogatory anti-Millwall songs.

These d**kheads did not even know a single Alty players' surname until 20 mins into the match (they were City fans). The Millwall supporters could have moved into the corner and given our stewards a hard time, but they could see these idiots were not genuine AFC and chose to blank them.

Yes Millwall supporters made the police look stupid. Next time they come the town can welcome them properly. People now know the truth. As for the city supporters, Millwall just laugh at them. City are among the most cowardly so called hooligans i have ever met.

My niece works in the offices at Tesco in Alty. The police told Tesco to shut as they had been informed that about 900 Millwall supporters were coming up not to watch the game but to fight with Alty, city and united supporters and to all meet at Tesco in Alty.Of course this did not happen, and again made the Policeaswell as Tesco look silly.Tesco were told by a boss higher up than the local branch they had to stay open. The police told Tesco if they did open and there was an icidend they would not send any officers.
Glad to hear the Millwall fans caused no problems,as i have said before i know one and he is old school fan, working class and proud of it.

Sorry H but this is in fact not quite correct.

I was with the match commander all afternoon and a 'serial' was deployed to TESCO at one point because they had contacted the Police due to a number of the (reportedly 200 in total) Millwall fans who had travelled without tickets causing concerns although actually doing nothing. The group in question was moved on.

Ok AltytunnelSteward,
i was told this by my sister(my nieces mother)last night,i put it up to try and clear up a few of the myths over Tesco doing it for free publicity. All what i was told was supposily to have happened during the week leading up to the game Not on match day itself.Though to be honest if there was an incident at Tesco i would have thought the Police would have had to attend.
Glad you could shed further light on it all, just go's to show how things can get twisted a bit lol

I wouldn't normally bother replying but I am still suffering from a good away day hangover and decided to bite. You really are mugging yourself off here mate do you honestly expect anyone to believe that 200 Millwall without tickets turned up at Tesco looking for trouble and stood around and then got moved on! Lets look at the facts.

If 200 strong Millwall hardcore traveled without tickets to kick off - they'd have kicked off

If 200 Millwall were rounded up by Old Bill they wouldn't have been moved on they'd either have been taken to the  ground to join others there or escorted back to a station and put on trains or police escorted coach to outskirts of town and radio contact  kept with coach till safely up the motor way.

we only sold poxy 300 odd tickets (Piss poor turn out but not surprising the way we've been playing) so no reason to go withourt tickets and lets be really  silly here if there had been an off organised and it was a no show dont you think they'd have thought  sod it we may as well go to the game now we are here and yet  NONE of the SO CALLED 200 turned up.

Sure your a steward and not just another keyboard wanna be someone, also sorry to be the barer of bad news but Altrincham havent quite made the Millwall hit list  ::)

Moving on as many  smaller teams  have found the hype is greater than the real thing and  we aint so bad when we dont have a beef with you, but if you pull the lions tail expect to be biten.

AS for the two van loads of sh*tty that turned up seems their voices were the only thing they were prepared to used and they were treated with the destain they deserved and just laughed at and ignored.

Too bloody cold to sing and to be honest not much to sing about but a wins a win.

Good luck with the rest of your season fellas and remember dont believe everything you read sure a quick call to Tescos will reveal the most excitment they had yesterday was Betty from frozen food getting her fish battered.

Alty Tunnel Steward...

you talk absolute crap sometimes...
200 'Millwall fans' (without tickets) turned up at tesco to cause trouble and they were 'moved on' ?? I haven't laughed as much as i did just now in ages... complete bollocks
the police wouldnt have 'moved them on... they would have escorted them out of town and if a congregation had turned up from as far away as Millwall they wouldnt have said 'yep, no problem officer, we were just about to get the train home right now !'

crap !

No please read the post in its entirety.

A number of the reportedly 200 indicates that reports were received that 200 had travelled to Manchester without tickets, many of whom I believe were put straight back on the next train.

The number reportedly in the area of TESCO was in single figures

Thanks

Jenga,
i put up that piece about Tesco,my niece is in the Personal dept there and this is what she told her mother who DID tell me.I thought it appropiate to post as there was a lot of talk about Boycotting Tesco and i thought this would shed some light onto the reasoning behind Tescos thinking.

Me and three of my fellow 'hooligans' had a rather pleasant cup of tea and piece of cake in Tesco prior to kick off. Must say the staff are much more pleasant than the immigrants that work in my local Tesco in the Old Kent Road.

Looks like the stewards story has  changed now and its single figures in Tesco so come on own up was it you 4 that were asked to move on after your tea and cake cause they had other customers wanting your table  ;D

No crunchie,

The stewards story hasn't 'changed' I've just clarified it so that people can get a handle on what actually happened (or not as the case may be) You've won, good luck in the next round!!

it quite clearly says a number of the (reportedly 200 in total) !!! Now you say single figures... So how do you go from reportedly 200 in total to maybe 10 ? You also said they 'were moved on' and after the fact several people have said what a load of rubbish they would have kicked off after coming so far you say they were put on a train ?
I stand by the fact you are talking cow dung  :)

You know what there is some sh*te posted on this forum at times but this takes the biscuit.

Millwall from what i saw were there for the footy match; i went out into Alty for the rest of the night and the only agression i saw was City and United fans singing to each other pissed up.

Good luck in the competition and the rest of the season.
