There is a straightforward; but not necessarily easy, solution to this problem.............win the game

I was out refereeing in the Cheshire FA Womens Cup a couple of weeks ago.

For as long as I can remember you've had to play to a finish on the day of the original tie (Three 90th minute equalisers in as many years really do piss you off) but this year a replay was indicated should the original match be drawn.

This was to take place the following Sunday, i.e. seven days after the initial match.

I'm not sure whether the seven day rule is applicable for CSC ties or not but the FA nationally set out the order of precedence of competitions which will always place a County FA competition above any League (other than the Premier League which is under the auspices of the FA nationally)

Also, I believe that entry to the Competition is mandatory for those Clubs not granted an exemption.
As my time as secretary of Chester City Ladies F.C. they had to enter the Cheshire Cup to be eligible for the F.A. Women's Cup. I presume it is a similar rule for all football clubs. As for the F.A. Womens Cup. I can't believe they have replays nowadays especially in the Northern Section when Caernarfon could draw Middlesborough. This is absolute lunacy. Consider how much it's costs a club to travel to these games. Especially when these clubs are only amateur clubs and the prize money is not very much in the F.A.Women's Cup.

Ian,

I don't think that they have replays in the FA Womens Cup but this season they have introduced replays in the Cheshire County Womens Challenge Cup..

I've just copped for Stockport v Frodsham in the next round

Not much chance of that going to a replay. I remember being linesperson at Mond Rangers v Tranmere a few years ago. Tranmere played a league game in the morning and then played the Cheshire Cup game in the afternoon. They took the piss and won 8-0(i think) Sue Smith play as sweeper.

I hope you're right but, as I said, I do have a terrible record of last minute equalisers particularly in Cup games involving Womens Teams which are scheduled to go to Extra Time. What normally happens then is that one team score in the first minute and we suffer a further 29 minutes punctuated only by cramp and increasingly 'tired' tackles neccessitating the issue of cards with all the accompanying paperwork >:( >:( >:(

Phil...you really are the most naiive person in Christendom!!! ::)

Which right minded female defence wouldn't leak a dodgy last minute equaliser just to be on the same pitch as you for a further thirty minutes!!!!! ;D
