My plan is to go straight to the Acorn, leave my bag there then work my way to the ground pub by pub. I will print out a walking route to take with me. If i get to Piccadilly in time i might have breakfast in the Wetherspoons.

Seaside towns always have plenty of pubs so there should be no need to walk more than two minutes without a rest.

The best pub we found last time (when the game was called off the other month) was what I think was described as  the oldest pub in devon or something lke that???? . tucked away down a little side street, but just off the harbour/main presinct, a couple of minutes walk from the wetherspoons.Great place,we were in there for hours, low beams, horse brasses, proper beer, model ships on the cornice, pictuers of dogs palying snooker, great place.Landlady was from the wirral and a real traditional landlady, very friendly.I would be keen to visit this establishment once more!

Hole In The Wall
6 Park La
Torquay
Devon
TQ1 2AU

Does it look familiar?

i think a revised agenda

railway station - Acorn Lodge - Hole in the Wall = 3.43 miles     =   50 minutes walk = time for four pints =   taxi
Hole in the Wall - Football Ground = 1.98 miles=   35 minutes walk =   time for two pints = taxi
Football Ground - Hole in the wall=1.98 miles   =    35 minutes walk =   time for two pints =   taxi
Hole in the Wall or other pub nearby- Acorn Lodge = 1.57 miles  =   unable to walk    = taxi

good research though baldrick

another decision strongbow or katy for the train?

I'm hoping to find genuine Devon scrumpy. The stuff that looks like cloudy orange juice with dead things floating in it.
