SuperCooper's Management Masterclass

Latest in a weekly masterclass from SuperCooper (from the Tamworth Herald prior to Saturday's  defeat at Southport). This week's masterclass is on Motivation. Lesson 1- stick and carrot:

"...if they (the players) don't perform on Saturday, they can forget about playing in that match (Burton in the FA Cup). And they can also forget about a night off on Monday night because they will all be playing in the Birmingham Senior Cup at Sutton on Monday night.... "

Well, they must have really pulled a result out of the bag on Saturday as one player from Saturday's line up started at in the team at Sutton, and I'm sure they will now all be retained in the starting line up at Burton on Saturday. One to use with the kids this: if you don't behave you'll have no presents at Christmas.

Why, you may ask, have I got so interested in SuperCooper's comments, apart of course from the tips on good management, from which we can all benefit? Well, it's this one from the same article....

Lesson 2: consistency

"The FA want to punish us for every misdemeanour, but they can't even get a cup draw right".

Of course, an 18 point deduction for fielding an ineligible player doesn't fall into the category of "every misdemeanour".
