I got my demo from here

http://www.footballmanager.net/en/article/21/1298.html

have to say it does appear to be stripped down version and certainly not the full game as the demo would suggest.

It is apparently compatible with the  full version so saved games work but with reduced tactics and cant seem to scout for players or find a transfer list I dont think I will be using my saved game to transfer across.

Seems to be a good game IF all these options that seem to be missing are available in the full version.

Any comments from people who have the full copy? I dont get my my copy until my Birthday on the 18th Dec (37 years old - will be looking as old as Trucker soon) . Jeez that old hey!!!

For some reason the PSP version is supposed to be ridiculously easy...

On the PC version i am in my fifth season with my most local team Farsley Celtic and im currently 11th in the Conference National. Still part-time and fighting hard to stay in and become an established team in the Conf.

1st season - 12th in Conf North
2nd season - 4th in Conf North - beat Leigh RMI 1-0 in't play-off final
3rd season - 24th in Conf National and relegated... left with ultimatum to win promotion again or id be sacked, so..
4th season - 1st in Conf North overhauling Nuneatons 10 point lead at the top with 10 games to go.
5th season - 11th after 17 games

Some interesting changes, Woking and Cambridge (woo hoo!) in League 1, Huddersfield in the Prem, Burnley in League 2, Mansfield, Rotherham, Wrexham, Torquay and Vauxhall Motors in the Conference!

Agreed the PSP is too easy, however it's always good to beat Macc 6-0 at their place!!

Can't get into the PC verson for some reason at the moment.

Its better than it ever has been. Never before on previous games have i been relegated which came as a shock. Usually you can guide a team like Farsley/Leigh etc.. into the Championship by 2015, which is er.. quite unrealistic. The new touches are good, the better player interaction and comments about refs! I just wonder how they can better it.. but they always find a way.

Anyone got any tips on the team talks?

Eveyone in my team seams to ignore what I'm saying, morale is through the floor and I can't work out how to pick it up....

Any suggestions welcome!

Hi Dan,

I find the teamtalk after affects aint that important, as everytime i checked they didnt seem too bothered, and they don't much now, and im in my seventh season with Farsley. Its important to say something though.. I find when you're clear favourites at home you should 'I expect a win' it and if you're playing a close game or a team expected to beat you, pick the 'Wish Luck!' or 'You can win this!'.

If im winning at half time i go for the 'Dont get careless!' option whereas if i am losing but playing well, i go for the 'You can win this!' again. If im losing and playing sh*t, i go for the 'I want to see more from you!'. If youre winning at half time, dont go for the 'Pleased' or 'Elated' options, you're team generally concedes within ten minutes after picking that.

And i guess after the game whatever the result and performance will judge you're responce. Losing at home to a sh*te team and i go for 'Disappointing' or if im struggling, i show a bit of 'Angry!' option. If you win at home, i go for the 'Pleased' whereas if i win away at a good team, i pick the 'Fantastic Result!'

If you managed to bear with me through that, good luck!

Chris

I'm in 2011 and have found this new version much more realistic.

I stuck with the current (real) Alty squad for the first few years but made a whole load of youth signings.
I now have about 15 good players coming through who are between 19 and 24.
Some games I don't have any original players on the park, which is kinda bittersweet but I've definately got a good team for the next few years.

2006/7: 20th (safe by 1 point!)
2007/8: 17th
2008/9: 18th
2009/10: 15th
2010/11: 10 games to go and currently in 5th [thats those young guys breaking through]

Best Signings:

Dean Thornton (GK):
Signed from Wycome on a free in 1st Season.
Really good technical and physical (loads of 16's, 19's +20's).
   Now worth 240,000 pounds!

Matt Bowman (ST):
Signed from Sheff Wed in 3rd Season.
   Great goalscorer, 17 finishing.

Warren McBean (ST):
Signed from Braintree, originally at Barnet.
Really quick, not great other stats but scores lots anyway.

Harry Smart (AML):
Signed from QPR for 1000 pound in 2009.
20 dribbling and scores goals as well.

Julius Etuhu (CD):
Nigerian, signed for 1000 pound from QPR this season.
Not brilliant numbers but plays really well and consistantly.
Only 20 but just got called up to Nigerian Senior Squad!

Leon Lekej (CD):
Serbian kid signed from Sheff Wed in 3rd season.
Excellent technically and good everywhere else except REALLY slow (2 acc and 2 pace).
Playing for Serbian U21 but only just turned 18.
