Darlington...

I don't remember him being at that game, however you were head honcho of all things commercial at that point & may know better.

The game I am thinking of was prior to that.

Mister Flynn,

You definitely owe Ecky a pint (does the Noel White Suite now serve SlimFast milkshakes on draught though?).

Stuart Hall was present and working for Radio Five when we played Darlington at Moss Lane on 8th December 2001.

Deffo: he was regaling anyone who'd listen with stories the way only he can tell them!

I also once served him a loaf of white bread from the bakery at the Safeway in Wilmslow

I suppose I had an unfair advantage on that one as we was sat next tio me.

Lovely chirpy banterish chap as soon as the radio link went live "Mark Maddox rose like a Salmon, Moss Lane erupts....ahhh the magic of the cup"

Then when it was not on he was a complete diva moaning about everything he could see.

Kind of spoilt the "here come the Belgians" laugh a minute, its a knockout image for me.

I definitely owe you a big fat pint Ecky......suggest that you claim it after the weigh in on February 21st!

The game I was thinking of was the FA Cup 2nd Round against  Wigan in 1994.

Stuart Hall - by a mile

Is he still going ?

He is still going and is beginning to look as eccentric as he sounds. He covered Everton's game with Hull for BBC Radio FiveLive last Saturday and flounced through the press room wearing a huge tweed peaked cap and full-length brown fur coat, as favoured by well-heeled women in the middle of the last century. I kid you not.

His Voice can be heard on Saturdays on Radio 5 Live, commentating on Premier League Games. His flowery descriptions of what is happening are priceless
