Peter Thomson? Although 'booze and birds' would have to be replaced by 'Fish and Chips'

I was going to say Peter Eales - one abiding memory of him was that he was so pissed in the Trophy game against Cheltenham a few days after the draw at White Hart Lane that he let in two soft goals in the first 10 minutes that may have had something to do withthe fact he couldn't stand up straight he was so drunk.

You don't expect your goal keeper to be flat on his back giggling whn you go 2 goals down.

He smoked big cigars as well (but not during the game, usually!)  ;D
