4-3-3

As we don't have any natural wingers (other than Bowler), I wonder if a 4-3-3 might be a solution to get a few players back in positions they are better suited for. I am thinking of a midfield of Lawton, Bushell & Owen with any 3 from Little, Thornley, O'Neill, Thomson & Hendly up front.
This might uncrowd the centre of midfield (as we seem to have 4 central midfielders most of the time) & allow more freedom of movement up front by having  3 interchangable forwards.
Any thoughts?

Against Tamworth that might work, there midfield did not seem that dominant. There centrehalves played ok, we need to apply pressure.

I have a feeling GH will play 5 in midfield on Tuesday and go for penalties?

If the teams are read out and we're playing 4-5-1 I think I might shoot myself!!

Seriously, we should be giving this game a real go and looking for goals.....

I don't fancy penalties, always a bit of a gamble! If he plays 4-5-1 GH may be looking at a little pace: soak up any pressure and use a counter attack.

Do we have any real pace in our side, other than maybe Hendley?

TBH - I can't see why we'd bring Lugsden back from Leigh Hendley is a much better player.

I think we will because he does not cost us much!

However I personally don't think there is any benefit in doing so, but I'm not the manager!

True, but I think we have other players who can cover these positions, and are better to boot.

Maybe re-sign him and keep him on loan at Leigh for the rest of the season, see if some regular football does him good, something I suspect he will not get at Alty.

I thought we still had his conference registration?

No we had to cancel it so he could play for Leigh as the trasfer window was closed. I think he could have gone to a Unibond team and we'd have kept his registration, just not a Conference National/North&South team.
