I much prefer the occurrence of "mid-table Altrincham' rather than the usual 'Relegation threatened/haunted Altrincham' that we're starting to see in the write-ups.

That's a real step forward in other teams perception of us!

weren't we also the first non-league club to get a full team photo in "Shoot" about 30 years ago?

IIRC that was also the fiirst non league game to have its kick off time put back by the police due to crowd congestion. what a day, match was covered on all the football preview programmes that weekend, pity about the rest of the season

No, everyone got in...the council had put a limit of 3,000 as the ground capacity which was ridiculous.

Crowd given as 3,000 but the the rest had to be added on to other gates to balance it...hence why we got about 1900 for the last game of the season against Boston at home when in fact we were back to the usual 800 diehards!

Official crowd was 4500. more like 6000 and kick off delayed. Cracking result. Still watch it on video.

Official crowd was definitely 3000, but there was 4800 there....and it is indeed one of the best videos ever!
